Have you heard about the Kenguru? It’s a single-person, wheelchair-accessible compact car.
Stacy Zoern, an Austin, Texas attorney who uses a wheelchair, brought the vehicle concept to the United States from Hungary. The electric mini cars, also known as Community Cars, are like mopeds for wheelchairs.
The current model of the Kengaru costs $30,000 and can accommodate a manual wheelchair. However, the company is developing a vehicle allowing people in powered chairs to drive them.
The person rolls their chair into the car from the rear. These new vehicles will make it simpler to get around town without waiting for a ride. A person’s independence will be greatly improved. Becoming active within the community will not only improve their physical well-being, but will promote a more fulfilled social lifestyle.
The Kenguru will allow many people to stay on a roll!
