Working in the Public Affairs Office for the Space and Naval Warfare Command (SPAWAR) always presents exciting opportunities. SPAWAR provides IT solutions for the Department of the Navy and other agencies.

I’ve enjoyed being able to put my communication skills to work. From serving as the announcer for awards ceremonies to writing press releases for upcoming events and writing stories for internal publications, the job provides for a great working environment.

Last week, I spent the day with students from local middle schools who participated in DimensionU, a videogame program that incorporates science and math skills. The video below highlights the excitement the students had when you combine fun with learning.

About Tuesday Talk With Alex

Born in Charleston, SC, I was injured in a motor vehicle accident when I was nine months old. I acquired a C5-C6 spinal cord injury. I'm now 30 years old and I do not let my disability deter me from acheiving my goals and enjoying life. I will be sharing my experience of living with a spinal cord injury.
