About

Born in Charleston, SC, I was injured in a motor vehicle accident when I was nine months old. I acquired a C5-C6 spinal cord injury. I’m now 27 years old and I don’t let my disability deter me from achieving my goals and enjoying my life. I will be sharing my experiences of living with a spinal cord injury.

    Alex,
I recently read your story in the Post and Courier and I would like to write a piece on the College’s accessibility issues for my opinion writing class. Dr. Lamb said that you would be a great source. If you wouldn’t mind, I have a couple questions for you. Just email me back at admendez@g.cofc.edu

    Thank you!

Hi Alex! Ma name is Althea! I know a friend of yours, Ross and he told me about your blog. I was born with a rare muscle disease called Arthrogryposis and like you, I am not letting my disability keep me from pursuing my dreams. As I was reading your post, I realize, I could not stop smiling! It is so inspirational to be reading your blog. Thanks for sharing and if you want to know more about my life, you can visit my website at http://www.walkingtodrive.org. Take care and keep doing what you do best…LIVE! šŸ™‚
