As the Thanksgiving holiday arrives this week, I’m looking forward to spending time with my family. It’s always a fun time at my grandparent’s home where there will be a lot of food and family.
Most importantly, I’m thankful for friends and family who have been there for me. Even though there are struggles when living with a disability, I haven’t allowed those difficulties slow me down.
My family and friends haven’t treated any differently and I’ve have had the opportunity to do many things including being able to drive my van. Without my wheels, I wouldn’t be able to have the same mobility and independence.
No matter the challenges we may face, it’s important for us to be thankful for the breath in our bodies. We are grateful for so much.
This is why I’m thankful!
Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
…and that is why I am thankful to have had the opportunity to know Alex. He is a truly great young man. No whining, no frowns, only a perfectly awesome smile and attitude. He is someone who has every reason to be less than thankful….he has always been someone I admire. Thanks for being such an example to so many folks, including me. Happy Thanksgiving, Alex.
